…to do something enjoyable with a feeling of pleasure, because of an event.

To celebrate…

There are a a wide variety of ceremonies that a celebrant can help to deliver. To give you an idea of what they are and who they are for, I have created short descriptions of the most common ceremonies:

  • Wedding ceremony celebrations - for any couple, anywhere, your way, legalities completed first

  • Civil partnership celebrations - any civil partners, celebration tailored for you, legalities completed first

  • Commitment ceremonies - for any couple to show their love and commitment, just without the legalities

  • Renewal of vows - for any couple to remember, celebrate and improve their original vows, again without legalities

  • Naming ceremonies - for a non-legal way to celebrate any child and their family

Prices

I think it is important to be as honest and transparent as possible. There are a lot of things to consider when putting together a wedding and the simpler it is, the easier it is going to be for you to make a decision. So what’s included in your ceremony package?

The price includes:  a full two hour face to face consultation, all writing of the script with regular updates for you to approve, helping you write your vows, help with choices of readings and music, liaison with other suppliers before and on the day of your ceremony, use of PA equipment where required, my attendance a minimum of one hour before the ceremony to ensure it's smooth running, officiating the ceremony on the day, a commemorative certificate and a full souvenir printed copy of the script for you to keep as a memento.
So much more than your standard civil ceremony.

Weekdays (Mon-Thurs) - £495

Weekends (Fri - Sun) - £595

Naming ceremonies - £400

About Will

Based in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, I find myself a fully qualified and registered wedding celebrant as the result of a happy accident.

After a 35 year career in communications and public relations, I was looking for something different. My wife and daughter were watching “Married at First Sight Australia”, spotted the celebrants and, as a bit of a joke, suggested I become a celebrant - I loved the idea.

I bring together a combination of story telling and presentation skills, developed over a long career, with just a dash of eccentricity and a healthy love for life.

I am always available for a introductory chat about how a celebrant-led ceremony works and how we could could work together to create your own ceremony.

Please call on 07716 603307 or contact me through Instagram, Facebook or even old fashioned email.

Best of luck in your new endeavour Will, I couldn’t think of a better person for this role!

Here I will share some of my thoughts and ideas about celebrant-led ceremonies as well as my own experiences in becoming a celebrant

Date - What’s different about becoming a celebrant?

Becoming a celebrant has been quite a revealing development for me. After so many years working in large corporate organisations, spending time and energy trying to work out how to protect a business’s reputation, the chance to use my creativity for something more positive is refreshing. Instead of telling a story for a company, I now get to tell real people’s stories and it is always a good news story.

The greatest change is the freedom to use more poetic and romantic language. It is not often that you get get to paint such delightful pictures when writing a chairman’s statement for an Annual General Meeting.

It is this new opportunity to help create the romantic stories at the heart of other people’s happiness that I am finding the most rewarding. A celebrant is in a unique position. Unfettered by centuries-long traditions, language and structures, a celebrant can draw upon inspiration from many sources to build a narrative specific to the couple they are working with to deliver a truly personal and relatable story the captures the best of all involved.

As couples think about their own Hollywood rom-com wedding or perhaps an alternative steam punk inspired union, everything is planned for perfection. So why have the same words as everyone else? Use a celebrant to script the perfect lines and for the first time in your life be sure that you are going to be using the right words, at the right time, for the best effect - now that’s magic.
